Hi! My name is Hallie- like halle berry but with an "i"- and I am A storyteller. This most often takes shape as a director of photography, camera operator, or editor, and My current title is creative content producer at Georgia Public Broadcasting. Prior to pursuing my career full-time, I attended the University of Georgia, where i obtained a degree in Advertising with a minor in English and a certificate in New Media.
I have always felt that we are called to go deeper, and I often experienced this enrichment myself when seeing a movie for the first time in theaters. Naturally, I had to become a part of those who created such impactful work. I have a passion for telling stories and using my own experiences to shape my creative work.
I have been a videographer for everything from a family summer camp, to a campus ministry, to UGA Recreational Sports, and with each role, I relish the opportunity to capture the world around me the way i've always seen it. While I enjoy having my hands in every part of the process, I also really enjoy being a part of a team, working together to create quality content on a larger scale. Ultimately, I am looking for experiences that allow me to continue to make visions a reality, learn from those better than me, and create content that has a lasting impact on its viewers.
Most recently, I finished the first round of an interstitial series for broadcast and socials called "Georgia Neighbors." It features individuals from across the state of georgia answering the question "what is the story your life is telling?" and we hope our viewers in turn ask themselves the same question. we even took home an emmy for "outstanding arts/entertainment - short form" for the video featuring ryan cox, shortstop for the savannah bananas. This was a really huge honor and a moment for me to pause and reflect on all of my hard work thus far.
I also just wrapped working on a full-length film "Devoted heart" under the direction of billy dickson (American society of cinematographerS). as the a cam operator, I filmed on sticks, handheld, on the ground, on a dolly, on rails, in a car, on a plane, in a hospital... the list goes on. It was an absolute blast to work on a project of this caliber, and i can't wait for the premiere in november of this year.
When I'm not behind the camera, I'm usually getting mexican with my girls, writing letters to loved ones, going on a hike with a london fog in hand, doing a new puzzle (and then framing it), planning a trip somewhere with friends, crafting with my nieces, or (of course) watching a new movie or tv show. I really believe that one's favorite movies can speak volumes, so here are my top picks: Tangled, La La Land, Narnia, Pride and Prejudice, We Bought a Zoo, the star wars prequels, The Holiday, The Proposal, and the legend of tarzan. If we ever meet in person, please ask me about them. :)
No matter what is in front of me, I am always present and making the most of it. With my ambition, passion, and intentionality leading the way, I am ready for the next creative challenge.
